Czechia grants 234 protection visas to Ukrainians on Thursday

August 12th, 2022

Czechia issued temporary protection visas to 234 Ukrainian refugees on Thursday, while a week ago it was more than 400, the interior ministry has said. Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February, the visas, granting their owners a stay for up to one year along with other benefits, have been granted to 410,693 people. The number does not correspond to the actual number of refugees currently staying in Czechia as some have returned to Ukraine or left Czechia for other countries.
