Czechia's GDP to fall by 5-10 percent in 2020 - President Zeman

May 11th, 2020

Czech President Milos Zeman expects the country's GDP to fall by 5-10 percent over the coronavirus crisis in 2020, he told CTK today, adding that the renewed growth in 2021 will probably not be able to balance this year's decline. He said he would like the budget to be pro-investment and able to prevent any squandering of funds. The 300-billion crown state budget deficit newly projected for this year may be adequate and may not require further increasing, he said.
