Czechia's daily increase in COVID infections approximates 10,000

Czechia saw 9,902 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, almost 60 percent more than a week ago and the highest daily increase since March 23, the number of hospitalisations exceeding 2,000 for the first time in nearly six months, the Health Ministry's data show today. On Tuesday, there were 2,058 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 288 in serious condition. The weekly incidence rate is 386 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants, up by 34 since Monday. A total of 156 COVID patients died in the past week, which is about a half of the monthly death toll in October.
