Czech trade unions insisting on 10 pc rise for teachers' base pay

September 16th, 2019

It is "unacceptable" for the trade unions that teachers' base pay should only be raised by one half of the demanded 10 percent next year, Josef Stredula, the head of the Bohemian and Moravian Trade Union Confederation (CMKOS), told journalists on Monday. Stredula told a meeting of social partners that he also wanted to support the demand of Culture Minister Lubomir Zaoralek that regions should receive the money for the promised rise in monthly salaries in the civil sector by 1,500 crowns.
