Czech town to build fence to protect Soviet soldiers' monument

Sokolov will have a fence built to protect its monument to Soviet soldiers who died in the local field hospital in wartime and prevent its degradation by people stepping on it or walking their dogs there, Deputy Mayor Jan Picka told CTK on Friday. The monument consists of several plaques with the names of the victims who died in the Sokolov hospital during WW2. The Town Hall installed it in the vicinity of the municipal cemetery at the Russian embassy's request last year.
