Czech top court rules in favour of Iraqi refugee's plea

The Constitutional Court (US) has ruled in favour of a refugee from Iraq whom Czech authorities treated as an adult although he himself claimed that he was underage, judge rapporteur Katerina Simackova told journalists on Friday. A medical check-up, specifically the determination of the age of his bones, was decisive for the Czech authorities. However, the US ruled that this was not enough in the given case as more evidence was needed. Also, there was no interpreter at the check-up, like in his trial at the Prague Municipal Court, which posed a basic problem, the US said.
