Czech Supreme Court upholds Iranian businessman's sentence

July 26th, 2021

The Czech Supreme Court (US) has rejected the petition for an appellate review filed by businessman of Iranian origin Shahram Zadeh and other convicts in the case of influencing witnesses, and so the issued verdicts are valid, Brno Municipal Court spokeswoman Petra Hovorkova told CTK today. This court was dealing with the case as the first instance. Zadeh is serving an eight-year prison sentence for witness tampering. According to the Brno courts' verdicts, Zadeh tried to make the witnesses in the case of a huge tax evasion, in which he is the main suspect, testify falsely.
