Czech society composed of six social classes - survey

Czech society is divided into six social classes differentiated by a combination of available resources and social status according to a survey developed by the MEDIAN and STEM agencies, Czech Radio representatives and a team of sociologists said at a press conference today. Roughly one-third of Czech people fall into the first two higher middle classes. Almost half of citizens fall into one of three lower middle classes and about 18 percent of citizens live in the deprived class. The survey was performed among 4,039 Czech citizens from 1,300 towns.
