Czech, Slovak intellectuals join manifesto against EU collapse

Czech Senate deputy chairman Petr Pithart, Slovak politician Rudolf Chmel and writers Michal Hvorecky and Martin Simecka have joined a manifesto of some 90 European intellectuals who have warned against the collapse of the European Union. The signatories include writers Hertha Mueller and Imre Kertesz, film director Wim Wenders, former German president Richard von Weizsaecker and former German chancellor Helmut Schmidt as well as former EU representatives Jacques Delors and Javier Solana.
