Czech Simackova to be new judge of European Human Rights Court

The Parliament Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) elected Czech Katerina Simackova a new judge of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on Tuesday. Simackova, who is now a Czech Constitutional Court judge, will replace Ales Pejchal, whose ECHR mandate expires in late October. Her nine-year mandate starts on November 1.
