Czech sentenced to 20 years for joining Ukraine separatists

The Plzen Regional Court today sentenced Lukas Novacek, 27, to 20 years in a high-security prison for joining an organised terrorist group by fighting together with the local separatists in eastern Ukraine. A resident of the Karlovy Vary district, Novacek in July 2015 left for the east of Ukraine controlled by separatists from the self-named People's Republics of Donetsk and Luhansk, which had declared their separation from Ukraine.
