Czech school employees' trade unions ready for one-day strike

The Czech school employees' trade unions are ready to announce a one-day strike unless their demand for a 10 percent salary increase beginning January is met and want to decide in the coming days after further meetings, the unions' chairman Frantisek Dobsik told journalists on Friday. The trade unions do not agree with the proposed blanket increase in teachers' monthly salaries of 2,700 crowns.
