Czech Romanies protest against "anti-Romany" media coverage

Representatives of Roma in the Czech Government Council for Ethnic Roma Affairs on Monday criticised media outlets for denoting some perpetrators of crime as Roma, without evidence. This is a campaign against an ethnic minority, stirring up an anti-Roma atmosphere and supporting extremists, members of the council said. They called on the Council for Radio and Television Broadcasting to focus on the commercial television station Nova.
