Czech Republic sees record 1,531 serious Covid cases, death toll close to 20,000

February 26th, 2021

Covid-19 infections continue to rise in the Czech Republic, with 14,457 new cases confirmed on Thursday, some 2,800 more than week ago and 664 more than on Wednesday. Hospitals are still overburdened with about 7,200 patients including a record-high 1,531 in a serious condition, data from the Health Ministry show. The overall coronavirus death toll reached 19,999 on Thursday.
