Czech Republic reports record daily Covid cases

The daily number of new Covid-19 cases in the Czech Republic exceeded 50,000 for first time on Wednesday when 54,685 infections were confirmed, and it almost doubled as against the situation a week ago, according to data released by the health ministry. The number of Covid patients being treated in hospital increased by 12 percent from last Wednesday to 1,879, but the number of those in a serious condition continues to fall. Compared with last Wednesday, it decreased by about one quarter to 201.
