Czech Republic logs biggest daily rise in Covid cases since April

The Czech Republic registered 3,638 new coronavirus infections on Thursday, 2,102 more than a week ago and a record-high daily rise since April 20 for third day this week, data from the health ministry show. Hospitals are treating 771 patients, almost a 60 percent increase from last week. Late April's record daily numbers of newly confirmed cases were first exceeded on Tuesday this week, with 3,251 new cases. On Wednesday, the increase was even higher and it accelerated further on Thursday.
