The Czech Republic registered 139 new Covid-19 infections on Sunday, 58 more than a week ago and the highest Sunday rise in about two months, with the reproduction number R rising to 1.27 today, data from the health ministry show. The country has seen week-on-week increases in the number of infections for seven days in a row. The reproduction number, i.e. the average number of those who catch Covid from one infected person, has remained above 1, which indicates an acceleration of the epidemic, for 12 days.
