The Czech Republic issued 489 temporary protection visas on Sunday to people fleeing from Ukraine facing the Russian military aggression, or about 120 more than a week ago, the Interior Ministry said on Twitter on Monday. Since late February when Russia invaded Ukraine, Czechia has issued 371,282 visas to Ukrainian refugees. Czech authorities estimate that about 280,000-300,000 Ukrainian refugees are staying in the country. The exact number of refugees in the Czech Republic cannot be ascertained because some have left for other countries or returned to their homeland.
