Czech Republic Covid caseload rising

January 7th, 2022

The Czech Republic registered another 6,641 Covid cases on Thursday, 900 more than a week ago, and it was the fourth increase in a week in a row, according to data released by the health ministry. The incidence rate is also on the rise. At present, there are 388 infected per 100,000 people in the past seven days. By contrast, the number of hospitalisations is falling. At the start of the week, hospitals were treating over 3,000 Covid patients, but their number fell to 2,632 by Thursday.
