Czech Republic condemns coup in Myanmar

February 1st, 2021

The Czech Republic condemns the military coup in Myanmar, where the military declared the state of emergency after having arrested Prime Minister Aung San Suu Kyi, President Win Myin and other senior elected officials, the Czech Foreign Ministry said today. The Foreign Ministry also expressed support for Myanmar's legitimate leaders and called for immediate release of the detained and respect for the results of the November parliamentary election.
