The number of people subject to alternatives to imprisonment increased in Europe in the last two years to 169 per 100,000 inhabitants, and Czechia is above the European average, with 248 probationers per 100,000 inhabitants, a Council of Europe report released on Tuesday showed. The highest rate of probationers was in Turkey (471), followed by Belgium (426) and Britain (411).
