Czech president appoints Angyalossy Supreme Court chairman

President Milos Zeman on Wednesday appointed Petr Angyalossy new chairman of the Czech Supreme Court (NS) for a term of ten years, three months after Pavel Samal's departure from the post for the Constitutional Court (US). Neither Zeman nor his office said in advance whom had been selected for the post. The selection process was recently criticised as non-transparent by Judges Union President Daniela Zemanova. Angyalossy has been a NS judge since 2017.
