The position of the Czech Republic towards Israel remains unchanged and Prague supported Israel at international forums recently, Czech Deputy PM Jan Hamacek tweeted after meeting Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek (both Social Democrats, CSSD) today. In an article in the daily Pravo out on Saturday, Petricek and his predecessors in the ministerial post, Lubomir Zaoralek (CSSD) and Karel Schwarzenberg (TOP 09), criticised Israel's plan to annex the Jewish settlements on the West Bank and said this step would be a violation of international law.
