The Czech police wiretapped 5,512 phone and Internet-based lines owned by 3,007 people in 2018 and their tapping helped reveal 1,428 crime perpetrators, daily Pravo writes today, citing a police analysis that Interior Minister Jan Hamacek is submitting to the government. Last year, nearly three quarters of the wiretappings provided information that was useful for criminal proceedings. On the contrary, information received in 15 percent of the wiretappings was considered useless.
