Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and European Council President Charles Michel talked about the Czech presidency of the Council of the EU that will begin in July, Fiala said at a press conference held after their meeting in Prague today. Michal mentioned among European priorities freedoms and democratic values, energy and climate policy, digital transformation but also the need to discuss the strengthening of European security. He said NATO is the key element of European security, but Europe should also reinforce its own capacities so that it is able to defend its stability and security. Fiala said they discussed energy industry and he told Michel that Czechia needs nuclear energy to be considered clean.
