Czech PM challenges opposition's plan of no-confidence vote

May 12th, 2021

Prime Minister Andrej Babis (ANO) said on Wednesday he does not understand why the Chamber of Deputies should take a vote of no-confidence in his cabinet five months before elections, now that the cabinet is coping well with the COVID epidemic and gradually lifts anti-COVID restriction. "They keep on speaking about a no-confidence vote. I don't understand why it should be provoked now that five months are left before the election and the cabinet is coping with the vaccination and the pandemic, gradually relaxing restrictions, and with life returning to normalcy," Babis told CTK.
