Czech pilot flies 2,000 flight hours on Gripen as second in world

Czech pilot Michal Danek is the second in the world to have spent 2,000 flight hours in the cockpit of a JAS-39 Gripen supersonic aircraft, the military said at its webpage www.army.cz on Thursday. Lieutenant Colonel Danek is the commander of the 211st Tactical Squadron, based in Caslav, Central Bohemia. Danek is the last member of the Czech air force to have also been the pilot of a Soviet MiG-21 fighter. At present, he is a combat pilot on the Swedish aircraft.
