Czech senior opposition ANO deputies' group leader Alena Schillerova on Tuesday condemned Russia's steps "that amount to a clear violation of international law", reacting to Russia's decision to recognise the independence of the self-proclaimed republics in eastern Ukraine. On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that it was necessary to recognise the independence of the "people's republics" that pro-Russian separatists previously declared in the Donbass area in the east of Ukraine. TV broadcasting showed Putin and the leaders of the people's republics of Donetsk and Luhansk signing decrees that, according to observers, will serve as a legal basis for Russia to send its soldiers to Donbass.
