Czech opposition against Russian, Chinese participation in nuclear project

October 20th, 2020

A group of 31 opposition lawmakers has called on the Czech government to exclude Russian and Chinese companies from the tender for building a new unit in the Dukovany nuclear power plant, in south Moravia, for security reasons, senator Marek Hilser told CTK. "Both Russia and China are known for using their trade connections to exert pressure on other states. When they are invited to the tender, our government in fact gives these countries a wonderful opportunity to broaden their influence activities in our country," Hilser, from the Mayors and Independents senator group, said.
