Czech national missing in Ukraine, reported dead

May 3rd, 2022

A Czech citizen is missing in Ukraine but reports about his death cannot be confirmed for the time being, the Foreign Ministry told CTK on Tuesday, referring to reporting by the website Voxpot that a Czech volunteer was killed when Russian soldiers opened fire on his car. A car with Voxpot reporters Majda Slamova and Vojtech Bohac became the target of Russian snipers near the town Makariv in early March. After releasing their reportage, they were addressed by a Czech woman, Simona, who said her husband Tomas must have operated at a similar place at the time of the attack.
