Czech national coach contracts coronavirus again, football team to play without him

November 8th, 2021

The Czech national football team will have to play the friendly with Kuwait on November 11 and the World Cup qualifier against Estonia on November 16 without its head coach Jaroslav Silhavy who tested positive for coronavirus, the Czech Football Association (FACR) said in a press release. Silhavy tested positive before Monday's meeting of the team, although he had been infected with Covid-19 last year already and was fully vaccinated against it earlier this year. The national team will be led by assistant coach Jiri Chytry in these last two matches it is going to play this year, the FACR said. "I believe that we will succeed in both matches," Chytry said.
