Czech MPs pass further 2020 budget deficit rise to 500 billion crowns

July 8th, 2020

The Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of Czech parliament, passed a further rise in this year's state budget deficit to a record 500 billion crowns by the votes of the government ANO and Social Democrats (CSSD) MPs and the Communists (KSCM) on Wednesday. This has been the third rise in the 2020 deficit in a row due to the impact of the coronavirus epidemic and the subsequent lockdown measures.
