Czech ministry plans to decrease number of troops deployed abroad

February 19th, 2020

The Czech Defence Ministry wants to send 851 soldiers to foreign missions in 2021 and up to 946 in 2022, while up to 1,096 soldiers may be deployed abroad this year, Defence Minister Lubomir Metnar (for ANO) told the lower house defence committee on Wednesday. He said most Czech soldiers will operate in Afghanistan, Iraq, Mali and the Baltic states, same as now.
