Czech minister confirms Snake Spa heritage status

February 27th, 2020

Czech Culture Minister Lubomir Zaoralek has definitively confirmed that the 18th century Snake Spa (Hadi lazne) in Teplice, north Bohemia, is a part of the national cultural heritage. This decision cannot be appealed. Zaoralek told reporters that he had decided so based on the position of a commission that dealt with the spa owner's appeal against his decision not to remove the heritage status from the spa. The spa building has been a cultural heritage site since 1958. It has not been used as a spa since the turn of the century, following several reconstructions of the building.
