Czech military to buy cannons from French Nexter for 8.5 billion

The Czech Defence Ministry will purchase new cannons from the French firm Nexter Systems for 8.52 billion crowns, including VAT, Defence Minister Lubomir Metnar told the government today, he has tweeted. Most of the cannons will be completed in the Czech Republic by the Czechoslovak Group (CSG) holding that will supply the Tatra heavy wheeled chassis and armoured cabs. The contract with the producer is to be signed by the end of September, Petr Sykora, from the Defence Ministry press section, told CTK.
