Czech military equipment partly not operational - audit office

May 25th, 2020

The Czech Defence Ministry invested 2.8 billion crowns in new equipment and spent another 1.3 billion on repairs, maintenance and spare parts between 2016 and 2018, but a large part of it was not operational, the spokeswoman for the Supreme Audit Office (NKU), Jana Gabrielova, told CTK today. There is also the problem of dependence on suppliers and soaring prices of repairs and maintenance of armoured equipment, Gabrielova said.
