Czech lawmakers pass Czech-Russian agreement on fighting crime

The Czech Chamber of Deputies approved a Czech-Russian agreement on cooperation in fighting crime that mainly focuses on the exchange of information, but not on gaining evidence, on Friday. The agreement was previously supported by the Senate. It is yet to be signed by President Vaclav Klaus. Unlike a similar former agreement, the new one also provides for cooperation between customs officers and deals with personal data protection.
