The National Health Institute (SZU) has confirmed 27 cases of the Indian coronavirus variant, 59 cases of the 59 South African variant and newly seven cases of the Brazilian variant, the Czech Radio (CRo) public broadcaster said today. About 4,200 Czech samples of coronavirus have been sequenced in order to identify possible new virus variants, including 800 in June. SZU National Reference Laboratory head Helena Jirincova said apart from the British variant B117, there were other variants of concern - 27 cases of Delta (Indian variant), 59 cases of Beta (South African variant) and seven cases of Gama (Brazilian variant).
