Czech govt survives no-confidence vote again

June 27th, 2019

The minority government of the ANO movement and the Social Democrats (CSSD) survived the no-confidence vote in the Chamber of Deputies on Thursday early morning, which five centre-right opposition parties initiated over PM Andrej Babis's (ANO) suspected conflict of interest. All the 85 ANO and CSSD MPs voted in support of the minority government in the 200-seat lower house of Czech parliament whereas 12 Communist (KSCM) MPs abstained. Eighty-five opposition MPs voted against the government and 18 MPs did not take part in the vote.
