The Czech government Council for Research, Development and Innovations (RVVI) has approved cutting the central science budget for 2013 by 270 million crowns, council member Karel Oliva said on Friday. Czech Science Academy (AV) chairman Jiri Drahos expressed disagreement over the decision. The funding cut is not yet final, however, as the budget is yet to be approved by the government and then the Chamber of Deputies. "We will naturally be lobbying," he said.
