Czech fugitive gets 20-year sentence for fighting in Ukraine

June 1st, 2021

Martin Kantor, who has been prosecuted as a fugitive for fighting alongside pro-Russian separatists against the Ukrainian military forces in Donbass, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for terrorism and participation in a terrorist group, in a ruling issued by the Prague Municipal Court on Tuesday. Kantor's attorney asked for the acquittal of his client. The verdict is not binding.
