Czech FM: Turkish offensive to worsen situation

The Turkish offensive against the Kurdish YPG militia in northern Syria will only worsen the situation of civilians and refugees in the region, Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek (Social Democrats, CSSD) said on Wednesday in reaction to the start of the Turkish military operation there. The situation should be solved diplomatically and the EU should adopt joint steps. The US, too, should contribute to the solution, he added.
