Czech film academy nominates Zatopek for Oscar

The Czech Film and Television Academy (CFTA) has selected Zatopek, a film biography of the legendary Czech runner directed by David Ondricek, as the Czech Republic's candidate for the Oscar nominations in the category of the Best Foreign Language Film, Silvie Markova told CTK, on behalf of the CFTA, on Monday. The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will release the films shortlisted for the nominations on December 21, 2021, and announce the Oscar nominations on February 8, 2022. The 94th Academy Awards will be presented in Los Angeles on March 27.
