Czech ex-PM Necas facing trial over perjury

A state attorney has filed charges against former Czech prime minister Petr Necas (2010-2013; Civic Democrats, ODS) for committing perjury in favour of his wife, server Aktualne.cz reported on Monday. Necas will face a trial over his two testimonies in the case of the abuse of the Military Intelligence Service (VZ). The law enforcement bodies say he gave false testimonies in favour of his wife Jana Necasova, whose former surname was Nagyova and who used to head his office.
