Czechia should also focus on the topics that the European Parliament or other member states consider crucial, such as green and social issues, during its EU presidency that starts on Friday, several MEPs who will lead negotiations about environmental or social standards have told CTK. These topics include the toughening of climate goals and some social affairs, they said. The main priorities of the Czech government for the EU presidency are aid to Ukraine, the wave of Ukrainian refugees, energy security, defence reinforcement, and resilience of the EU economy and democratic institutions.
