Czech EU presidency budget may be higher - Babis

June 30th, 2021

The sum of 1.24 billion crowns for the Czech EU presidency in the second half of 2022 is not final, Prime Minister Andrej Babis said today in reaction to the criticism expressed in an open letter from economists, investors and other personalities sent last week to him. The total budget will be increased by the demands of individual ministries in the talks on the budget bill for next year, Babis said, adding that the signatories had either been misled by the media or their letter pursued political interests.
