Czech emergency state over refugee wave extended until June 30

May 25th, 2022

The state of emergency that has been in effect in Czechia since March 4 in connection with the refugee wave from Ukraine will last 119 days, until the end of June, the coalition government of Petr Fiala confirmed on its website today. On May 19, the lower house of parliament approved the 30-day extension requested by the government. All government MPs and one opposition MP voted in support of the extension.
