Czech diplomat Jiri Sedivy appointed head of European Defence Agency

Jiri Sedivy, who was Czech ambassador to NATO in 2010-2019, will replace Jorge Domecq as the chief executive of the European Defence Agency (EDA), Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek said on Twitter on Thursday. Defence ministers of EU member states chose Sedivy as the new head of the EDA in their Thursday vote. Domecq headed the EDA from February 2015 to January 2020.
