Czech deputy defence minister resigns over passive radar purchase

February 12th, 2020

Czech Deputy Defence Minister for Armament Filip Riha resigned from his post on Wednesday, the ministry has said in a press release, adding that Riha talked to Minister Lubomir Metnar (for ANO) and they agreed on his stepping down. Riha told Lidovky.cz news server that he resigned because of the pressure that Czech media exerted on the ministry over the recent purchase of Vera NG passive radars. Some politicians said they considered the purchase overpriced.
