Czech defence minister to leave if defence budget is markedly cut

June 4th, 2020

Czech Defence Minister Lubomir Metnar (for ANO) would not like to remain in his post if budget cuts considerably affect national defence spending, like in the global financial crisis in the late 2000s and early 2010s, he has told CTK. The current crisis will have an impact on the defence ministry, but the previous scenarios when its budget was cut first of all cannot be repeated, Metnar said.
